Hey friends,
I’ve got a little update to share about shipping to the USA. As some of you may have seen in the news, the US recently changed its import rules, and Royal Mail has adjusted the way they handle parcels going across the pond.
📦 What This Means
Royal Mail now has to add a £0.50 handling fee to every parcel heading to the States. On top of that, US duties are now charged even on lower-value orders. If these weren’t paid upfront, you could be asked to cover them on delivery — which isn’t fun at all.
💡 What I’m Doing for You
I don’t want you to have to deal with surprise charges at your door. So I’ve made two small changes:
- I’ve added 50p to postage to cover Royal Mail’s new fee.
- I’ve also added a 10% customs-cover charge at checkout. This goes straight toward duties, so everything is taken care of before your parcel even ships.
🌟 Why This Is Better
- No hidden fees — the total you see at checkout is the final amount.
- No delivery-day surprises — you won’t get extra bills when your order arrives.
- Smoother shipping — with everything prepaid, parcels clear customs faster.
📊 Quick Example
If you order something for £20:
- Item: £20
- Postage + Royal Mail fee: (e.g., £8.50)
- Customs-cover (10%): £2
- Total = about £30.50
And that’s it! No extra payments later.
I know this is a small change, but it should make things a whole lot easier for you. My goal is always to keep things clear and stress-free, and this way your orders arrive without any hassle.
Thanks so much for supporting my little shop — it honestly means the world 💛
